Sheila is a 13 year old who is currently being sponsored by SIPJ. When she was found, she had been largely neglected and had no social skills, not knowing simple things we take for granted like brushing her teeth or going to the toilet. As she was nearing puberty, SIPJ members agreed that it was better for her to move to a foster home, which is looking after her present. The photos below are of Sheila at probably her first ever Christmas party, after one month atthe home - amazingly clean and happy. She is still a little shy but she can now speak a few words in English and look really blossom ! This is really what Soroptimist is about - helping someone in need .
